I talked to my father again yesterday. He says that of all the viruses he has worked with influenza is the most “tricky” and difficult in terms of research and vaccine development. I was surprised to hear him say that, because he has worked with some very “exotic” viruses (of the extremely lethal variety) in his day, so I suppose it should not surprise me now that even the experts have difficulties understanding and dealing with H5N1.

Of course, not having all the info. they need doesn’t help matters!
