You know the guard/reserves have all the training needed to run a large city. Everything from truck drivers to police. We will need them a lot more then people realize.
When (not if) the pandemic hits it’s going to hit all parts of society. From the Water treatment guy to police to doctors. I figure we will have 30 percent lose due to sickness, another 10–15 percent who will not show up to work. They are afraid to expose family members to possible flu. (I would be one of those “if I had a career”).
So who does the governor get to help, besides the guard. They control the guard until the Feds step in; they will then lose local control.
I believe The states/counties will need to plan for volunteers/retired people to step up and take the slack up.
