This evening I met a gentleman whose company was setting up a US Government sponsored tour by some East European officials on Avian Influenza. I was handing out literature and we stopped to talk. So far he has them set up to talk with upper level government types at the State Department, USDA, etc. I talked about having them see a well prepared county (off the top of my head I suggested Fairfax,VA and Seattle area and maybe somewhere in New Jersey…) and also talking to some folks from a grasslevel organization like Flu Wiki. He mentioned that the group would be going to Seattle maybe King county…
What I need are three things: 1) counties that you feel are particularly prepared and contact people in them; 2) grassroots level contacts and groups that have been successful in moblizing efforts in their communities; 3) specific information on groups doing any training besides the usual Red Cross, ect. I will package these up in an email for him early next week. Folks thanks in advance for help with this opportunity to influence public policy!

Goju; Ft Wayne, IN; Seattle; senegal1 in DC area. Check the city triage list. And then check the sites for those cities. Fighttheflu.org is the one for Ft. Wayne, it names the lady running the health dept pandemic section.
