Flu Wiki provides 2 areas:
Our conversation space holds conversations that are useful for those who participate. People can look at the Forum Index and look at those old conversations to find specific things.
This thread is to help us in one other thing we want to do: convert some threads into wikipages. This means passion (which can be shared) and work (which can be cooperative). Both passion and work benefit from a bit of conversation, and this is what this thread is for.
So, if you are considering the possibility of wikifying another thread or group of threads, please feel free to tell us here. Someone might tell you it exists already, so you shouldn’t duplicate efforts. The conversation might lead to a change of focus. You might get lots of interest and help. Etc.
You can then use this forum to tell us from time to time how it goes. People can also look at the page and say hi, you started but it ain’t done yet, need a push?, etc.
First example: I’d like to wikify Forum.TheCaseForEarlySchoolClosure. It’s an easy and productive one. I’d like people who come to the wiki to be able to find this stuff, with a summary of our conversations. So I’m creating a wiki page: The Case For Early School Closure. And I’ll copy the stuff from the thread over to that page.
Thank you lugon: I’ll take a look at other threads as well - there are some very good ones that need to be saved and would be easier for non-forum users to find.
In order to find a lot of the Forum thread series’, I’ve been working on the Forum Index and adding a lot of the threads there. It might be easier to find multiple threads to use to create Wiki pages if y’all take a look in there…
BB,
I too find the Forum Index is a great addition to the wiki. As I wrote above Our conversation space holds conversations that are useful for those who participate. People can look at the Forum Index and look at those old conversations to find specific things.
A wiki is a hypertext: imagine a set of pages floating in a multi-dimensional space.
In wikis anyone can create:
Index pages have lots of links and help people find their way inside the hypertext.
We’re all welcome to think of both, because both are useful:
I know BB knows all this.
Ok, I’ve wikified most of what I wanted to wikify re the case for early school closure.
We just need to:
If anyone wants to lend a hand, just do it. Thanks!
btw, Some ideas emerge when I improve on the wiki page. I’m dealing with them over in the forum thread. Just so the ideas will stay there.
Learning as we run!
