I just saw a news flash that there is a recall of acetomeniphen or however you spell that. They showed a bottle of CVS pills on the news. Check your latest news reports to find out more.
Or check here. Also posted on today’s News thread @ Bronco Bill – at 10:24
I recommend everyone who has stocked acetominophen to check your bottles and call the number posted.
BTW--- This does NOT affect Tylenol brand medicine…only the generic “store-name” brands
Bits of metal found. They say it won’t harm you if you have taken any.
I’ve been needing a little extra iron in my diet so I guess I won’t worry about this particular recall.
Except you might cut the mucosa in your mouth. The batch lists are http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecall…obatchlist.html. The stores that stocked it are http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecall…gocustlist.html
Good for y’all for catching all this — I hadn’t visited the news thread today so sorry for repeating something already there.
I suppose the metal could also damage your intestines, if given a chance.
I swallowed a turquoise and gold earring once. (was talking on phone and had the earring and some pills in one hand,) Took weeks, but came out as good as new. Best thing for anything you swallow is to eat rice. For some reason it moves the object along fastest.
I’m thinkin’ I’da let that earring go….
Well…I have to say, that’s definitely a novel way to get pierced in an odd place.
I think we need to get back to the recall, before this gets any worse… ;-)
Good grief… have y’all looked at those lists. sheesh. I am having the worst prep week. Those lists are LONG. And I’ve got a “few” bottles … not. I’ve got a bunch of bottles. uggh. I can’t win.
Thanks for the heads up, BTW. I appreciate it. (Now I’ll slither back into my pouting, grumbling mode.)
EnoughAlready – at 20:33 --- Easiest way to find if there’s anything but pills in those bottles? A hand-held metal detector…it’ll find anything large enough to cause any harm…
The most interesting part of the recall (besides the metal fragments) is that the caplets were manufactured in the USA, but ALL of the raw material came from overseas.
You’re not going to have access to those raw materials in a pandemic.
Now back to your regularly scheduled recall.
My local news said the caplets effected can be three years old. Good grief, think they were on top of this. The number given is buzy might want to let this settle down before attempting to call

Done done that. My metal detector said everything is OK, so back into the bottle they go, and back into storage. Just a note for anyone using a metal detector, remember to pour them out into a non-metallic container. The bottles have a tin foil seal that will make the detector beep.
Dang! I forgot about that li’l seal! Thanks, Okieman…
And I can just picture someone pouring all their acetominaphin tabs into a metal pie tin and then scanning them---
“AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!! ALL MY MEDS ARE CONTAMINATED!!!”
At this very moment, scores of fluwikians are waving bowls of acetominaphin in front of metal detectors. And their families are shaking their heads, for they just know that their loved one has finally lost it. ;-)
