I came home and checked NewsNow Birdflu. I saw suspected human cases in Indonesia(HCW), Thailand, Vietnam, and China. I was skimming quickly and I was on the third article before I noticed they were from November 2005. Whew!!!!
Indonesia JAKARTA - Indonesian doctors said Saturday they were treating the latest suspected human case of bird flu in a nurse who showed the same symptoms as a patient who died of an unconfirmed infection of the virus.
China & Thailand BEIJING : China was battling to contain the spread of bird flu in northeast Liaoning province as Thailand confirmed that a one-year-old boy had been diagnosed with the disease.
China reported three outbreaks in 24 hours and a fourth suspected human infection with the agriculture ministry saying 300 chickens had died of the virus in Beining city, adding to two other nearby outbreaks in Liaoning.
Viet Nam The areas are now under a close watch and a quarantine has been imposed.
Two people died in central Vietnam’s Quang Binh province in late October with symptoms similar to bird flu but doctors said their samples had never been tested.
Tests are now being made for two suspected human cases, one in Hanoi and another in Bac Giang province, both hospitalised after showing bird flu symptoms.
NewsNow also had an article on a case in South Korea. The headline made you think human, “a case”, but it was birds. All of this along with ongoing cases in Indonesia, and suspected cases in Egypt and Sudan had me thinking that IT had started. Whew!!!!

I saw the China one yesterday, and had actually started to put it in the news thread when I noted the date.
Why does NewsNow post these old stories as new? Anyone know? It`s definately distracting to say the least.
What would you do if they were all new cases? Would this be enough to cause you to SIP? Make your last prep run?

Clusters in health care workers is my main trigger.
I would probably make the last midnight run for fresh stuff, and then settle down to monitor the news and restrict all outside movement.
If it got worse, then all those relatives here for Thanksgiving are now permanent house guests for the next 18 months, minimum.
I’d be canning a lot of leftovers.

Another moral of the story could be: finish your preps while you still can, because any day now you will awaken to discover that you have run out of time.
My understanding of the newsnow site is that they simply broadcast that which automatically comes to their attention. As they say, 26 some thousand world-wide news sources scanned every 5 minutes. They don’t write the stories, they just notify readers as reported by news sources. If one of the sources reports a story that is one year old, newsnow is not going to waste their time attempting to filter it out. What comes across goes across. You do the leg work.
I read the newsnow site daily. Multiple times. In fact, I have one computer tuned into it constantly. Not just for bird flu, but for other topics as well. Lotta good gouge on that site.

This may seem a bit of a jump, but the thought occured to me that maybe this is some sort of test? I am referring of course to the “fake” test the HHS will adminster in the near future.
