What is the GO when passenger’s present sick at the end of a flight before alighting?

Shouldn’t the crew and all passenger’s be put under observation and medically checked?

Should not the plane also be grounded until cleared?

I know that both cases in Australia were false alarms, but they don’t sound as though they were taken care of properly IMHO.

Details have been sketchy, tho., for BOTH incidents.

A lot of benchmarks have to be met. Sick people get off airplanes every day. Those on Fluwikie will have to realize that the bar is set at a certain level for the airlines

Blue - right now it is officially assumed that nearly all AI is B2H. Even if index cases are now customarily infecting 2 or 3 others, making that assumption untrue, the official viewpoint would be that those cluster cases are still dead ends because they are not continuing to a 3rd, 4th, or 5th generation. As long as WHO believes that these cases are “contained,” and under control, they will not issue heightened warnings on sick airline passengers.

Huge numbers of people fly daily, and probably many of them are ill at some point during their flights. One of the reasons WHO does not want to move to level 4 is because that would mean that passengers suspected of being ill would indeed need to be treated in a more careful manner. When the WHO sees any outbreak of H5N1 moving to the 3rd or 4th generation, initiating better surveillance of airline passengers coming from affected countries may be one of the first things that will happen.

In the meantime, could an ill passenger from Indonesia or Thailand really be carrying H5N1? Yes, it is just that they believe that the chance of that is too small to engage the (complicated and expensive) stricter surveillance standards at this time.

Thankyou for a fully explained answer.

I’m calm now. I understand. I just had to ask and not let it slip by.

PIXIE—

When my nephews’ wife and 2 little girls returned to St Louis about 10 days ago; there was a nurse-type person, checking everyone boarding the plane. Gina said they asked if they had been sick recently, had a fever, etc. and also IF they were coming back to Indonesia ??? Thank goodness they are not going back…my nephew moved them back , lock, stock & barrel.
