I am getting ready to make what is a big ticket (for me) purchase and I am contemplating ordering from one of teh following:

Everything Kitchens Yellowstone River Trading Homestead-Products Camping Survival

Has anyone had any experience with these sellers? I can’t seem to find any information about them and I haven’t ordered from any of them. I’m just trying to be careful where I spend my money. Thanks.

I have ordered from lots of sites but none of these. I can recommend beprepared (emergency essentials), honeyville, etc…depends on what you are purchasing.

Hi Genoa, I purchased a grain mill from Everything Kitchens back in September. They were a bit slow to ship but otherwise everything was satisfactory. Prices were very good.

Scared in Mass, I, too, like the vendors you mentioned. However, I’m interested in buying a water filter and none the places I usually buy has it. The four sites mentioned above (Everything Kitchens, Yellowstone River Trading, Homestead-Productes, and Camping Survival) have the brand I want and the best prices.

Nimbus, Thanks for letting me know your experinece with Everything Kitchens. This was the only seller for whom I could find any kind of ratings (at Epinions), and the comments were evenly split between loving it and being highly dissatisfied.

BUMP …

Anyone else have experience with any of these vendors?

I’m thinking of a water fliter, too - Just wondering what type you were looking at…

Looking for water filters, I have had very good results with these folks, very friendly & knowledgeable if you talk on the phone with them and explain your needs. Have many kinds of filters, this is what I plan to use for my swimming pool water http://tinyurl.com/aft97. I am not affiliated in any way with them. Just a satisfied customer.

K from MI,

I was all set to buy a Big Berkey, which I believe is a very good filter, when I discovered the AquaRain which appears to be comparable and is less expensive. For anyone considering the Big Berkey, the best deal I found was on eBay. There is a seller who is selling it, along with three personal filter bottles for a very good price.

And, to reiterate my original question: Anyone familiar with **Everything Kitchens** , **Yellowstone River Trading** , **Homestead-Products**, or **Camping Survival** ? These are all online vendors from whom I am considering buying.

Dreamweaver,

Which filter do you use? What is your set up for filtering water?

Dreamweaver – at 23:45

Genoa: I use style C with style A filters. Start the Style A Siphon with the Doulton Sterasyl filter, the Sterasyl is a silver-impregnated and laboratory certified removers of E.Coli, Vibrio Cholerae (Cholera), Shingella, Salmonella Typhi (Typhoid) Klebsiella Terrigena, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and other biological contaminants. Then simply plug its outlet tube into the Omnipure inline filter. This is a granular carbon filter which will remove any chemicals that are in the water. Total cost, less than $60 See url at post above. I would take the water out of the pool, treat it with bleach, let it set for 15 minutes then run it through the filters.

Have you looked on Ebay? If they sell on Ebay, you’ll be able to see their feedback. You might also find other vendors of what you’re looking for.

Genoa,

I ordered a grain mill from Homestead Products and received it. No problems. I think it is a small outfit by comparison to Emergency Essentials and Honeyville, but owner was responsive to emails I sent.
