I am looking for ideas to bring the news of a pandemic and how to prepare one’s household to each home in my small town of 800. As a newcomer to the town and a single female, I don’t want to give any info about myself or my readiness, but feel obligated to get the info out to the townspeople. A newsletter has already been printed in our town newsletter but our Mayor is completely oblivious and is not open to discuss the topic any further. The newsletter only stated H5N1 is floating around out there and to “be aware of it”.
Does anyone know of a great “all-inclusive” article that explains what it is, why it is different and then maybe a second article on how to start preparing one’s household for a pandemic?
Or do you have any other ideas how a single female can get the info out to a town safely and relatively anonymously?
All I can say is one person at a time. That is what I have been doing. I talk about all the other disasters that can happen, storms, earthquakes, flooding, job loss. It seems to make you less crazy. :) Try someone at the school if you can get the kids involved, you might win over a couple of parents or families.
